Tropical Storm Hanna?

At Starbucks sipping on cup number 2 of the Anniversary Blend and editing some pictures.  A good Saturday morning, and the perfect spot for a post!

The past fews days were…anticlimatic.  There was buzz on the radio and on TV warning Charleston residents to take precautions because Hanna was headed our way.  Folks began to board up their houses, grocery stores stocked up on water and other necessities, and school was even canceled.  And last night, during the heat of the storm, it passed without notice.  It rained, but not even really hard.  And the 70 mile an hour winds?  No where to be found.  We woke up this morning to a cool, crisp, sunny day!

Don’t we do this with our lives?  We get all worked up over something, begin to go through hundred of “what-if” scenarios, and then the storm never hits.  I know for us, we often get caught up in worrying, focusing on the unknowns and the what-ifs, only to get through the situation just fine.  It frustrates me when I think about how much we miss out on because our focus is in the wrong place.  A friend of mine wrote I’ve learned that worrying about things only prevents me from what He has for me at that time. So true!

Wherever you are, know it’s a new day – a day in which you or I have never seen, and a day which holds countless possibilities.  So throw down what’s holding you back, and live the life He has created for you! (Check out Hebrews 12)
