Praise the Lord!

Or “PTL!” as we say in the Daniel house! I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief, as well as rejoicing at this moment! Matt and I found out several weeks ago that the results from our First Trimester Screen were all good, which means that the chances of our baby having Downs Syndrome, Trisomy 13, or Trisomy 18 are slim to none. Although I was extremely relieved and thankful about that, I felt like I couldn’t take a deep breath until we had the test for Neural Tube Defects done, which has to be executed during the Second Trimester. We had the blood work done on June 4th, so I was getting a little nervous and antsy, considering that it’s June 19th and we haven’t heard anything from the lab. I started calling earlier this week and didn’t hear or receive a call back until today, but everything is negative (which is a great thing)! Apparently they’ve been calling our house line, which is disconnected. Neither of these tests completely eliminate the chances, but we were told that the chances are 1/10,000, so we’re praising the Lord! Now we’re looking forward to our “Big” Ultrasound on July 2nd. This will be a full body scan to see if everything is developing properly, as well as a chance to find out the sex of our little Peanut. So, we’re praying for healthy development and sprawled legs!

  1. What a blessing to know that we serve a Great God who is in control of every detail of development. Every child is such a miracle! This one is extra special to us considering that he/she is our first sweet precious grandbaby!!!
